The Chillout Lounge Mix - Lumina
Illuminating mix to give you a boost, your light shines brighter through the darkness.
Starting this mix with Night Ride, the new EP from SONLIFE. As the EP title suggests they dive deep into the world of the life nocturnal, creating emotional ambient electronic soundscapes with a twist of trip hop in the beats. Distant voices and melodies appear out of the echo space nocturnal canyons of the city. A feeling of melancholy mixes with a sense of drama and the promise of the hope of a new dawn on the horizon. The EP builds on the sound of their self-titled debut album to create something more developed and all consuming. Electronic composer Frank Hopkins and electronica artist Løgomyx are set to release Asymptote (Blank Dust), a deeply personal EP exploring loss, grief, and the process of moving forward. Inspired by the mathematical concept of an asymptote - a curve that forever approaches a line without ever touching it - the EP reflects how we navigate grief, never fully reaching closure but finding a way to live with the sorrow. Each track moves through distinct phases: Convergence, Inflection Point, and Singular Drift, capturing the shifts between pain, change, and acceptance. Blending Hopkins’ cinematic soundscapes and electronics with Løgomyx’s classical music background and his intricate eye for detail, Asymptote resulted in a beautiful immersive listening experience. Frank is currently on tour supporting Halina Rice across Europe and UK. Belgian producer Dokho is back on Colorize and his marvellous house sonics are a treat once again. Don't Change is anchored by a razor sharp Reese bass as synth plucks flit to and fro while merging with idiophones and atmospheric vocal snippets in majestic fashion. Karyendasoul's standout track B27 from the Anjunadeep South Africa VA compilation receives remix treatment from Dosem, Because of Art, and BOKKIEULT. Over the years, Anjunadeep has been fortunate enough to work with some incredible South African artists. We were delighted to present a 7-track compilation of music all originating from South Africa from two Anjunadeep Open Air shows in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Not long after, B27 made its way onto Anjunadeep 15 with a special 'Interlude Edit' that quickly cemented itself as one of the highlight musical moments on the compilation. Wanderer is the second single from Feiertag’s forthcoming Embers EP. As his first body of work since 2024’s ON/OFF EP, the project continues to showcase his signature blend of beat-driven grooves, rich textures, and a seamless fusion of organic and synthesized elements. An uplifting and rhythmically infectious track, Wanderer sets off at a brisk pace, led by an enigmatic vocal sample that paves the way for Feiertag’s signature breaks, shimmering synths, and intricately layered textures. As the track unfolds, he masterfully deconstructs these elements, stripping them back to filtered breaks and the haunting, cryptic vocal fragments that initiated the journey. Reflecting on the creative process, Joris shares: “Wanderer was a journey in itself to complete, but the process was incredibly rewarding. I explored new production techniques, experimenting with syncopated melodies crafted from vocal snippets and African choir samples. Every musical detail feels intentional and in its own place. My goal was to create a track that works equally well at home or in a club / festival setting, which is why there’s also an extended version!” Feiertag has already released three albums and numerous singles and EPs on Sonar Kollektiv, alongside recent projects on R&S and Anjunadeep. Chinese DJ/producer IPeiqi makes his debut on Anjunadeep Explorations with the Power Down And Start Again EP. A former software engineer, Peiqi Liu first joined the Anjunadeep roster in 2023 via the Explorations 22 VA compilation. He has numerous previous releases on labels like Monstercat Silk and Beijing's East Records, and has delivered sets at some of East Asia's leading electronic music venues. In 2024, Peiqi took to the stage at Creamfields Hong Kong, and at Anjunadeep label showcases in Shanghai's Bandai Namco Dream Hall and Singapore's Zouk. The new EP shows IPeiqi at his best. The Harbour and Magic Hands are both led by catchy melodies and bouncy drums. Stockholm-based DJ and producer LAR brings us his second release on Anjunadeep Explorations, The Warning Signs EP. Originally from Nottingham, Matt Larden has steadily built his presence within the spheres of progressive and deep house. First joining the Anjunadeep Explorations roster in August 2024 with the Don't Let Me Down EP, Matt becomes the second artist to release twice on the label within its first year. With 12 individual releases in 2024 alone, Matt’s impressive work rate and dedication to his craft cannot be ignored. Following performances at Anjunadeep’s Malta weekender and the Belfast stop on Anjunadeep’s U.K. & Ireland club tour, he joins us on the sunny shores of Albania for Anjunadeep Explorations Festival 2025. Montreal's rising star Mitch Oliver teams up with Tyler Mesa and Portland's Keilimei on Paris Lovin', a sultry deep house anthem that captures summer's ephemeral magic. Sonatine is the new musical project from British DJ and producer Michael Greene and Australian vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jackson Mico Milas. February 2025 marks the release of their debut AA side Falling Out Of Time / True. As Fort Romeau, Michael Greene has been DJing around world for over a decade. Seamlessly blending house, electronica, disco, and techno, he has released on labels such as Ghostly International, Cocoon and Running Back, with his work receiving praise from publications and tastemakers including Pitchfork, Mixmag, The Guardian, BBC Radio 1, Keinemusik, Solomun, TSHA, Erol Alkan, and HAAi. A versatile multi-genre collaborator, Fort Romeau was also former keyboardist for the Grammy-winning electro-pop band La Roux and has worked with artists such as Gold Panda, Jas Shaw (Simian Mobile Disco), and Chris Baio (Vampire Weekend). He has also remixed a diverse range of artists including Elderbrook, Ry X and Alt-J, and even 20th-century composer Eric Satie. As anticipation builds for his debut album Introspection, set to drop in May on La Guarderia Records, Jochem Hamerling delivers the first album sampler, a showcase of his genre-defying sound. From deep, groove-driven house to atmospheric storytelling, this EP captures Jochem’s signature blend of musicality and club energy. Early In The Morning sets the tone with its warm, rolling house groove, while Jaywalk blurs the lines between house and progressive. Wake Up takes a deeper, vocal-led approach, weaving lush synth textures with an irresistible rhythm, while In The Darkness shifts the mood with its cinematic intensity, haunting vocals, and breakbeat energy. Fresh off his A State Of Trance Festival performance in February, where he premiered tracks from his upcoming album, Jochem continues to push boundaries. On Echoes Blue Music, the fourth instalment in Dear Gravity's ongoing Sleep Scenes collection, Nocturne features six beautifully peaceful tracks to aid with rest, study, calm, and of course sleep. Lastly, the inspiration for the title of this mix, a remix by Peter Sandberg of Mark Barrott’s deeply emotional track The Light Is Still There.
