The Chillout Lounge Mix - Intuition
Music can express powerful emotions and a profound sense of connection and feeling within us. I have a new album with the sublime singer Mozez called Dreams which goes deeper than anything I’ve done before.
Indian-born British composer Cephas Azariah presents his highly anticipated debut album, a 12-track neo-classical LP Joy Paradox to Reflections. Cephas was always drawn to classical composition, he studied Music Theology and the Arts at Middlesex university and began composing soundtracks for film right away. He drew on the full spectrum of his influences to write his debut album, including neo-classical, ambient and cinematic, and wrote it in his home studio with a piano he bought off Facebook Marketplace. “I finished it all in Scotland in a cabin by the lochs,” he says. “It was a beautiful way to wrap it up.” Alexander Church - Moments on the Shoreline Part 3 was inspired by early morning walks in the Lake District. Ullswater and Thirlmere are two lakes of beauty for me personally. I find the calmness and mood they bring inspiring from an emotional and creative perspective. The ideas for both tracks came from walking around the two lakes over a weekend, taking photographs and in a way, they signify a slight change in seasons as summer ends and autumn begins. Ankhoï: “I always try to create music that stirs up emotions” Ankhoï, born in Morocco, developed an affinity for music at age twelve when he received a guitar and a Djembe from his parents. His musical journey began by performing in local folk groups during high school. At 15, Ankhoï discovered progressive music and was introduced to the synthesizer and other electronic instruments. After several months of practice, he developed a passion for DJing and decided to pursue it professionally. Melbourne native Mike Rish brings us Tú Attair. Known for his deep and atmospheric sound, Mike has released a series of records on GMJ and Matter's imprint Meanwhile Records, as well as on local Australian labels Late Night Music and UGENIUS. His latest EP on Meanwhile reached #1 on Beatport's Progressive House release charts, and his music over the years has received support from the likes of Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur and Marsh. Casnik (Nicolás Castillo) is an Argentine DJ/ Producer, originally from City Bell, La Plata. Since he was a child he felt music in a special way. He began to experience everything he felt inside through movement, like Michael Jackson, taking dance classes and going through various musical genres to learn the essence of each one and understand the different states of mind. Jonathan Re aka Nantiel, Dj / Producer born in 1996 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his career as a DJ studying at a local academy after finishing school and then studied music production at the Arjaus school. Influenced today by Progressive House, he likes to generate long journeys full of groove in his sets, without leaving emotions aside. Their EP Make Your Choice is out on the superb 3rd Avenue. Steve Bug and Herve Solar team up to deliver three spectacular tracks. Opening their triptych with the tribal rhythms of Test Drive acid notes and swinging hats get things off to a groovy start. Building tension in the first section as the bass drops the track goes into overdrive! A wild acid line in the second half keeps interest high. Faodail and Maybealice link up for Parallel. Scottish producer Faodail returns with a dazzling new record, he crafts a soundscape you can get lost in as silky plucks flitter left and right over bustling rhythms and gentle synths. His production chops are truly first rate, matched only by singer / songwriter Maybealice's warm and expressive vocal performance. Parellel is an immaculate record through and through, on Enhanced Chill. Haute Musique is proud to present Echoes of Life, a dreamy collaboration between two hot producers, BiG AL and D.M.P. On remix duties, they welcome back Harlem Knights, who deliver a groovier, bass-heavy version with their trademark dynamics. They inject fresh, galloping energy while staying true to the soul of the Original Mix. Marsh (Anjunadeep) unveils Ascension, a collaboration with Moscow-based duo Volen Sentir and the second single from his highly anticipated 'Aria EP'. Originally birthed as an audio-visual live concept designed to showcase Marsh's growing catalogue and the many talented vocalists he has worked with. On 'Ascension', Marsh's signature upbeat sound is married perfectly to the atmospheric organic tones for which Volen Sentir have become known, a track that seamlessly blends styles. In recent years Canadian DJ / Producer Murge has successfully carved out a reputation as one of the finest independent purveyors of cerebral club music on the scene. Releasing a steady stream of singles via Emancipator’s Loci Records imprint has enabled him to find a sound and style that is undeniably him whilst keeping fans satiated between live sets. Now he returns with an eagerly anticipated full length debut record- Gold and Bliss comprising 12 original tracks that showcase his sizeable talent, spanning the varied and wide-reaching musical territories he calls home. Having grown up to the sounds of late 70's and early 80's Jazz Funk and Electro as well as European electronica Ranj Kaler ended up with quite a mixed bag of musical tastes His first foray into professional DJing started in 1986 when he started playing at various Rank Leisure venues in South London and Surrey After being poached by European Leisure in 1992 he went on to be resident DJ at the hugely successful Pure nights in St Albans till 1996 which led to playing at various nights at Ministry Of Sound, Turnmills, Bagley's, EC1 club, Club UK and The Cross. As well as that he also ran Creative Sounds record shop in Kingston Surrey. Aman Anand and Futura City (aka Maze28) collaborate with an amazing EP called Painting My Thoughts out on Stripped Recordings. I enjoyed every track on this EP, highly recommended. Never quite feeling at home in his country of birth, whenever Ludvig Cimbrelius had the chance to travel he couldn’t help but hope to find that deep sense of belonging somewhere. On a journey alone across the western United States in his early twenties, he believed he had somehow found what he was looking for, but had no way of holding on to it. After this journey he always dreamt of going back. Fearing it might all be a mirage, for years Ludvig felt the call from the other side of the Atlantic, and eventually he answered it. Along his path he found endless beauty, but not quite the summer he dreamt of. Given its present form in a process spanning six years and three continents, A Summer Yet To Come is perhaps the most personal work of Ludvig’s to date. As the title suggests, these songs in some sense tell the story of seeds still waiting for their season to bloom. Restore is a peaceful and encouraging song from Salt of the Sound & Simon Wester that sings of restoration and finding the beauty in all things. The second single from Salt of the Sound's forthcoming creation-inspired album, Restore is intended for times of personal reflection and quiet worship. I sent a poem called Mind Games to Mozez (Numen Records) who was inspired to write the lyrics for Lose It. It was an extremely deep and personal experience making Lose It and I’m very grateful to Mozez for this connection we have expressing through sound. Our album Dreams is out soon, I hope you feel it and find inspiration too.
