The Chillout Lounge Mix - Reflections
I have an album out on Numen Records called Reflections which is a deep journey from within, reflecting on every human emotion and embracing them all. Cinematic, ambient soundscapes glue the album together with a variety of modern beats and percussion. Also an EP called Dhere / Flare which I did with the gifted Chris Zippel on the Mango Alley affiliated label Maldesoule, check out the superb Haen and Meeting Molly remixes which are stunning.
Good Lee returns to Loci Records with a fantastic new single Two Souls Aligned taken from his forthcoming album, A World Within. With mixed heritage of Austrian / Filipino descent this album project saw him more drawn to his family and history relating to the Philippines and overtly employs sounds and themes that reconnect to his roots there. Musically it is a relaxed, yet focused mid-tempo dance affair. Vocal snaps dance in and out of frame while warm, analog sounds and synths create a polished sheen of pop-tinged instrumental dance music. I’m really enjoying collaborating with Mozez a lot at the moment, I have loved his vocals for many years and it’s great the freedom he allows me with producing not only when we make music together but for everything I do on his label Numen Records. Follow You is about finding what truly matters is the true life force, that which encompasses all Love beyond limitations, love beyond self, Follow You is a dedication to the true you. Anjunadeep is excited to welcome Berlin-based producer Paul Baule to the fold with his debut label release, Zillion EP, a masterclass in delicately-produced electronica that makes for an emotive listening experience. Dutch producer, Baril, returns to Intercept Records with the emphatic release of his debut album, For You, Forever. The project see’s Baril build upon his chillwave approach to dance music which serves as a warm embrace to listeners. Merging contemporary songwriting with a plethora of electronic influences, the album transcends ambient, breakbeat, and Deep House, the result is one that fits perfectly both on the dancefloor, as well as home listening. Lanfree - Hot (3rd Avenue) gets this mix really up and running in a sure footed positive way, sublime ethereal vibes. andhim and Oliver Koletzki have been the closest friends for many years, after a joint podcast and several remixes they finally got into the studio together to write two tracks for Oliver's next album Trip to Sanity. The result; two emotional tracks moving between melancholy and euphoria! The Meeting Molly Remix of Dhere fitted perfectly in this mix, such a nice vibe and so different from the original there was room for that too later. In 2002 breaks producers Dark Globe, teamed up with 80s pop star and one of music's iconic artists, Boy George, for the single Auto-Erotic. Returning together again in 2006 to feature on Dark Globe's album, Nostalgia For The Future, Atoms was born. Atoms was released on vinyl and iTunes only (pre Spotify), via Global Underground with remixes from Henrik Schwarz and Dark Globe. Atoms was influenced by Eric Satie’s turn of the 20th century melancholy otherworldliness. sIEdger who's recent releases have been gaining praise from a wide selection of DJ's like Nick Warren, and Ashley Beedle is my pick from the various quality remixes. Boston-based duo Warung release their third EP with Anjunadeep, Falling which combines the driving breakbeat title track Falling, with the club-ready Dreamscape, and rounds off with the duo's collaboration with Oliver Wickham Vertigo, which features powerful, swelling synths and Wickham's own vocals. Brett Schieber collaborates with Lewis Raye to make a beautiful soulful ballad called She Sings Alone In The Dark, this one hits the heartstrings and I look forward to hearing more from Brett. Beautiful track by Belau next which features Beth Hirsch (vocalist of legendary AIR - Moon Safari album), Ethereal is exactly that. Pulse from my Reflections album which is one of the most powerful pieces in my opinion and it goes well with the original version of Dhere after. Finishing this mix off with Carbon Based Lifeforms with a track from their superb new album Seeker. CBL are Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Vadestrid, both born in 1976 and based in southwest Sweden. They met when both 15 and are still, amazingly, working happily together over 25 years later. CBL itself was formed in 1996, as an offshoot from other projects, but it soon became their focal point, culminating in their first release on mp3.com in 1998. The duo signed with the celebrated Lyon based Ultimae label in 2002 and have since released six official, full length albums.
