The Chillout Lounge Mix - Revel
Celebrating good times with this mix, I hope it brings you delight and pleasure.
Laurence Guy’s (Accidental Pieces) album Living Like There’s No Tomorrow, But Killing Yourself In The Process is superb, I included two tracks. In classic Laurence fashion, the LP combines live instrumentation and home-listening frequencies with club-friendly sonics, culminating in a unique and eclectic album that sits comfortably at home in any context. Alexander Church teams up with Chris Cargo for two incredible originals. Configurations Of Self label favourite, NOLAN works his magic on remix duties. UK-based Church continues his sonic odyssey ably assisted by Northern Irish legend, Chris Cargo, an artist like Alexander that began releasing in the ‘90s quickly building a formidable reputation for tough progressive grooves. The Dublin-based duo of Rob Roche and Tim Nolan have made impressive strides as Long Island Sound for close to a decade now, honing their swooning dance craft via beloved EPs on their Signs Of Space imprint while becoming mainstays of their island’s club and festival circuit thanks to multiple acclaimed DJ sets. Air, with a magnificent swooning melody sits on top of a growling reese bassline and mechanised 2-step beat where a romantic ambience grows. London Grammar join forces with electronic masterminds CAMELPHAT to create another euphoric track Higher. Prepare yourself for emotive vocals and complex layers as these artists bring everything we wanted and more in this new release. Hannah Reid's elated vocals in the foreground enable a cerebral experience as the quick tempo, high-pitched beats, reverb, and bassline support the background. This track does take you "higher than before" as the build flows through your body, emotions are visceral. The inimitable and boundary pushing Róisín Murphy announces her highly anticipated forthcoming album, Hit Parade, produced in collaboration with electronic music virtuoso DJ Koze. The thirteen-track compendium of genre-melding gems is set for release on esteemed record label Ninja Tune. Germany-based producer Gorje Hewek unveils his latest EP, entitled Celestial, on Anjunadeep which showcases his beloved swelling, yet intricate musicality, and sees him collaborate with fellow organic house producers Volen Sentir, Dulus and Moya. With warm piano notes, delicate string leads and driving percussion, the Celestial EP creates an organic and calming ambience, perfect for easy summer listening. Following the digital release of his spellbinding EP, Not As I, today George FitzGerald releases two remixes of Mother: one by rising star of Australia’s underground dance scene, Pretty Girl and the other by himself. The Original version worked best in this mix but the remixes are well worth checking out. Rest from my new album Reflections on the superb Numen Records next which is a deeply personal track that is pure emotion, I love making complicated flowing music as well as this stripped back, pure with less elements, which can be highly effective. Also on the deep and meaningful journey is the track Flare which I made with the super gifted Chris Zippel, released on Maldesoule a stunning label, we are also very happy to announce another EP coming out soon with some quality remixes again. Lemongrass has an album called Mosaic which has some beautiful music. A mosaic is a multifaceted pattern, assembled by arranging together small pieces of different types. To create a music album release named Mosaic follows pretty much the same principles. Snippets of sounds and creative ideas from various sources take form, in this case to a new Lemongrass album. Roland Voss, the mastermind behind the project, widely opened his (audio) diaries and selected some precious bits and pieces for his 34th longplayer. Claus Pieper continued with professional sound recording at the beginning of the 90s, when techno emerged and a whole new world opened in terms of music, founded his project Genlog, Eigenart, Kemiri, Pottjunge and the leading german techno and house magazine Raveline. Starchild is a collaboration between singer (and lyricist) Rhian Fox and The Inaudibles - Alexander Rhodes brings the Interstellar Remix to the table, blending lush synths, Modern Balearic beats, and the trusty fender stratocaster on six-string duty. All My Thoughts deliver their third single from Tropics in 2023 which lands and as the gateway track to his highly anticipated album Nothing Strange. The final singular offering Infinite (For Real) welcomes the vocals of London based BINA, in a stripped back, soul soaked cut that only wets the pallet more for the ten track collection en route. John Monkman releases Shadows Falling. The London-based producer and live act is head of record label Beesemyer, known for releasing artists such as Pete Tong and Theo Kottis. The release will be Monkman's second standalone release with Anjunadeep. Shadows Falling is coupled with the Asriel Mix, an ambient version that sees the track become an emotive, cinematic piece. London Grammar release The Remixes, a sixteen-track body of work that, alongside reworks of the band’s tracks from the likes of Bonobo, Jamie Jones and Joris Voorn, features new music from the trio in collaboration with CamelPhat and SebastiAn. Discussing the release, vocalist Hannah Reid said: “All three of us grew up listening to electronic music. I remember buying CDs from a vending machine at Fabric. When me Dan and Dot first met we bonded over so much music – from the most obscure to the most commercial electronic sounds. Acclaimed musician, sound designer and creative Max Cooper releases two new tracks from his Motif EP. The serene, Stereoscopic Dive is post-traumatic and inherently comforting, further testing the line between exhilaration and experimentation. The track was borne from an original score for a VR fractal dive animation by Julius Horsthuis, with binaural sounds linked to a 3D visual positions as they fly past our head during the dive into a new world.
