The Chillout Lounge Mix - Closer

Started releasing as an independent artist with a track called Closer, all releases will be available on Bandcamp initially, other online stores afterwards.

Very pleased to be premiering the album Piano Layers Vol.II on the sublime label 7K! (part of !K7 Music family). Twenty-one exclusive songs by twenty-one artists to take a picture of the musical world that pulsates around the sound of the piano. As with the previous editions, the artists involved come from all over the world, symbolic of the fact that the love for instrumental, contemporary classical and avant-garde music has a real audience and its own scene capable of reaching and attracting listeners worldwide. The idea of “Layers” is to connect artists from all over the world and give greater strength to their musical message. There were so many great tracks to choose from but Bruno Bavota and Sofi Paez hit my musical emotions and definitely earnt the start and finish of this mix. Always get excited when there is a new Pop Ambient compilation out and the 2022 edition on Kompakt is another beauty. The tradition-steeped compilation series curated by Wolfgang Voigt is about the persistent and ever-necessary definition of beauty, of reduction, of electronic music of heavy lightness and light heaviness, of ambient's eternal promise of a state of physical and acoustic weightlessness and Pop's of redemption. And about the question why a never arbitrary combination of soundscape, drones, samples and loops, put together in a certain way, can create this feeling of warmth, depth and space. Next is my first release as an independent artist; Closer is a deep, groovy and emotional chillout track with a Balearic sunset vibe. Chuggy rolling bass over a snappy percussion, gentle ambient pads and a sensual vocal. Made for sharing with those close to you ideally around sunset time. Follow me on Bandcamp where new tracks will be released around a month before other online stores. Kevin Hayes, Kirk Marrison and Clark Rehberg III began collaborating under the KILN moniker in central Michigan in the early 1990s. KILN signed to Ghostly International for 2004 LP, Sunbox, which established the label’s ambient “SMM” tributary, going on to reach their most consistent stretch from 2007’s Dusker through 2013’s meadow:watt. Astral Welder is a fizzing, electro-charged gallery of propulsion and abraded tone, offering eleven rotating constellations of force, groove and color that infuse the listener with a buoyant sense of now. Shunus is back on Art Vibes with Lost & Found EP. Capitalizing on his extensive sound design abilities, the UK-born, Cairo-based artist is taking his organic music to the next level. The 10th edition of DeepWit’s acclaimed Autumn Air series is available now with various artists, featuring six tracks from new as well as some usual suspects of the DeepWit family; Tim Angrave - Vision is included in this mix but there are lots of great tracks to choose from. After over 10 million streams, radio play on SiriusXM, BBC Radio 1, and multiple Hype Machine #1’s, Rohne returns with his second album, Forms. Informed by the downtempo dance styles of Bonobo, Catching Flies, Kiasmos and Christian Loffler, Rohne has perfected his own take on what this genre can be. Silky ambient textures and soft synths combine with dance beats in a beautiful minimalist aesthetic. After the announcement of his new album Fragments, Bonobo (Ninja Tune) (also known as Simon Green) has released Tides featuring Chicagoan singer, songwriter and poet, Jamila Woods. Arriving at a moment when Green knew the album was still far from completion, he received a vocal recording from Jamila Woods. Settling into his studio after a night out, he listened and immediately knew he was experiencing a magical moment; he had the album’s centrepiece. With an irresistible deep groove, warbling harp, Woods’ knock-out vocals and a beautiful string-laden outro by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Tides became a catalyst for the album. Not only does it tie into the themes prevalent on Fragments - the ebb and flow of the cycles of nature, and the elements - it represented a figurative changing of the tides: shortly after, the world started to slowly open and move again, and a new energy to the album took shape. Fresh off of a remix for Grimes’ My Name is Dark, producer Julien Bracht has been powering through CV19 studio seclusion on full-power, with a distinct vision for brighter days ahead. Bracht’s first solo album under his own namesake is cut with surgical precision for the shoegazing astral sound travellers who long to break out of their pandemic quarantines, and reconvene for techno-induced ascension. Turkish Producer Stefan Addo and Spanish Duo Far Distance release Lascivious EP on Dear Deer. Deep, hypnotic, and atmospheric elements perfectly match with the dirty talk vox and smooth percussive elements. Movements by the utterly gifted Mazoulew is his most far-reaching and ambitious work to date. A dynamic compilation of works that transcend defined genres, from Neoclassical/Ambient through to Downtempo/Electronica. Songs written and produced by Mazoulew, mastered in collaboration with Lewis Hopkins at Star Delta Studios. Through making his mark on the electronic music scene, Mazoulew has collaborated and performed as a DJ with some of the UK’s most influential artists. BBC Radio has featured Mazoulew multiple times as One to Watch, I fully recommend you check his sounds out. The Black Dog… “ We created Music For Photographers with two simple rules; to be void of human voices and that it should be played in full when visiting any location. Our approach to composing the music and visiting the locations evolved. It helped the whole process become a more fluid exchange of ideas and we repeated the process later while editing the photographs. The book "Brutal Sheffield" provided a full stop for the creative process, finding that perfect balance between function and form. Music For Photographers has now become a fully functioning sigil in our creative process. Rather than just invoking, it also evokes and goes beyond being a simple function. Listen carefully and you can hear the bréton brut!”
