The Chillout Lounge Mix - Late Breaks

Standout deep chilled electronic sounds along with ambient and classical pieces to celebrate the second release as an independent artist with a track called Late Breaks, all releases available on Bandcamp initially and other major online stores afterwards.

Starting off with Rohne as I’ve had his album Forms on repeat, it’s one of those rare releases where every track is great! Another huge favourite il:lo strike again on Anjunadeep with a remix from the sublime Hosini on their track List. With a considerable back catalogue on Anjunadeep, Hosini's intricate production style perfectly compliments il:lo's sampling and sound design. Introducing some dreamlike breakdowns, a two-step beat, and a swathe of percussive elements, Hosini's beautiful interpretation recalls the likes of Bonobo, Mild Minds, and Tycho. Sebastian Davidson & Cir:cle (Loki Records) have continued to go deep into their relatively new creative partnership exploring downtempo genres spanning dance, electronica, trip hop, and more on new album Motion. The duo first served up their debut project last year, they have since honed their sound and explored more ground than ever on the new record. Tasteful samples, crisp breaks and emotive sound design all sit comfortably on a beautiful bed of analogue warmth. Published earlier this year, Stil vor Talent main operator Oliver Koletzki’s ninth studio full-length Made of Wood gets the remix treatment courtesy of label staples Super Flu, Fabian Krooss, AFFKT and newcomer Kunterweiß, each of whom add their distinctively vivid and elegant spin to Koletzki’s tribal-informed, drum-centric narratives. German duo Alma reemerge on Definition with their new transmission, Mother. Crafting their own blend of emotionally whelming club music, it's material primed for extended use whether you are sitting on some high-rise towering rooftops at sunrise or enjoying a freeze-dried cocktail on Alpha Centauri. Former duo turned one-man unit BONDI debuts on A Tribe Called Kotori with Head Over, an assortment of wave, Italo and electro-pop informed joints sounding like the perfect soundtrack to a cabriolet ride down the strip, ready to get bumped out loud as your engine revs and roars its way past indistinct swashes of flickering casino signs and dazzling front beams. Late Breaks by Tim Angrave is an uplifting yet haunting breaks track with a deep 808 bass, revolving hypnotic piano, ethereal vocal, pulsing atmospheric synths and pads in the background. Though they have DJ’ed together for many years since meeting at a university party in the Netherlands, Vander & Saudade’s first official collaboration as a duo Deliverance “We both went to the same school and connected for the first time playing for a student house party. The bond was instant, and we stayed friends ever since.” Adds Vander. “There were no “underground” parties in the city we were living in, so we created the Delft Underground Movement, the only electronic music event there. Grace is Secret of Elements latest ethereal composition, illuminated by a supernatural piano melody and immersive string crescendo over a giant screen of abstract electronic texture. Nils Frahm’s album Graz on Erased Tapes is a moment of time at the very beginning of Nils’ quiet revolution. The essential genius is already evident; the harmonic language of classical, and the immediacy of jazz. Nils seems to pull down each idea moment by moment, gently, to not scare away the muse. Rounding off a non-stop year, Asta Hiroki releases Fold the second single on his own newly minted Folded Music imprint. The new single once again finds the producer creating at the intersection between jazz, electronica and hip hop. Dusty beats and sub bass cut through a plethora of jazz-tinged instruments for a nuanced and melodic journey that packs a heavy low end. Silky Fender Rhodes lines fall easily like folds as the track unfurls, with the midsection taking the listener on a brief key change detour before returning back to a deconstruction of the original motifs. Coldcut & Mixmaster Morris feature an incredible lineup of new ambient and classical recordings, all released for the first time as part of their @0 compilation on Ahead Of Our Time, Coldcut’s original label before Ninja Tune. Matt Black (one half of Coldcut) spoke about the project and its creation explaining that: @0 refers to that liminal state experienced many times where my mental and emotional stability was not solid and it felt like teetering on a zero axis about to fall into depression, or more rarely, mania. I found that ambient music, by making no psychic demands, often opened some space and with its soft fascination, subtly raised the energy, helping to avoid that downward spiral and navigate slowly up and out. @0 is a balance point.” Matt Cutler, AKA Lone, presents his eighth album, and first in five years Always Inside Your Head. It marks two major changes, with both a new label and new approach, working with vocalist Morgane Diet. This deeply textural and ethereal artwork is situated high above the clouds, amidst the heavens, occupying a stratospheric state where swathes of synthesized vapour and azure rays sound like a literal breath of fresh air.
