The Chillout Lounge Mix - Halloween

Halloween special with fiendishly wicked new music. From ambient, chillout, through breaks and deep, to a bit of a party, then super chill at the end.

Salt of the Sound's new album For All The Moments In Between is a collection of songs inspired by the full experience of the human condition - through the emotions of joy and grief, during times of elation and loss, and in all the moments in between. Stemming from one of the most challenging yet simultaneously life-giving seasons of the duo's lives, the music aims to capture the beauty and wholeness that emerges from the everyday. For nearly a decade, American songwriter Julie Byrne has moved through the world as a characteristically private artist largely outside the public eye. Raised in western New York State, now living in New York City, she has counted many places as home since committing her life to her work. In the folk lineage of the wanderer, Byrne's poetic, evocative songcraft pulls imagery from the road and takes its shape from the evolving impressions of friendship, love, and loss. As a performer, she carries an aura of warmth and vulnerability, an innate musicality connected to the natural world; there is real gravity in her ability to make that a shared feeling. And just as gracefully, she can recede from view; it's been six years since her acclaimed breakthrough, Not Even Happiness. In 2023, Byrne emerged from a deeply trying and generative period with the most powerful, lustrous, and life-affirming music of her career, The Greater Wings. Maldesoule by Mango Alley have an ADE compilation which has some superb music, I included Maze 28 but there are lots to choose from including a Meeting Molly Remix of Dhere, a track I did with Chris Zippel… We have a 2nd EP Stealth and Shadows on Maldesoule coming soon, pre-order available now. Chris Zippel and I are delighted with this release which has two superb remixes, one by Kyotto the other from Aman Anand. Stripped Recordings have some superb sounds as usual, enjoying their breaks tracks a lot, pure class. Another of my favourite labels, 3rd Avenue has a constant supply of quality music coming out. Around Midnight is back with a new release by the talented Ary Sya from the French Riviera. Ary is a talent on the rise in the indie and progressive electronic music scene. With over 15 releases on notable labels, including Connected, Sound Of Khemit and Cafe De Anatolia to name a few, Ary joins Around Midnight with his EP 1999. Ary Sya takes you back to the good old days of Deep house music with his energetic sounds. Meloko, for his second collaboration with Around Midnight, is accompanied by the French producer Konvex & The Shadow. Their interpretation turns ′1999 into an essential club anthem with a powerful progression in the main break and by strengthening the bassline. Configurations of Self label favourite, NOLAN takes the reins for his debut release - Firefly. Something of a maverick, NOLAN’s kaleidoscopic sound has intrigued, excited and impressed in equal measures. Coming from the talent farm of Brighton, his exceptional skills have helped rise above and keep him there. Signed to a cross-section of high profile labels, from Renaissance to Toolroom via Capital Heaven and Bedrock, showcases just how widely his musical palette can go. A wonderful new compilation lands, entitled Efimero 03 on Circle Of Life Music. This album is here to welcome the season of dance, a celebration and for some reflection and inner reflectance. It is a journey to be explored through different emotions on the dancefloor. These records were handpicked for having very brief but powerful emotional moments to encapsulate a dance space in a specific space and time. Amazing newcomers with much to tell and industry veterans such as Amentia, HAFT, Veytik, Edu Schwartz, Bodaishin, LØC, Lupe Republic & Double Touch… Maricha’s track Where Is The Moon which has a great vibe to it and showcases the sound she plays at her gigs, Ethereal in Ibiza especially which is my favourite party there. Bodaishin offers a superb ambient track which has a great atmosphere. Get ready to embark on a musical journey like no other as renowned electronic music artist EINMUSIK teams up with the sensational vocalist Diana Miro to release their latest track, Let Me Out on the Berlin based Embassy One label. This dynamic collaboration aims to redefine modern electronic styles and bring something enriching and illuminating to music enthusiasts worldwide. Combining EINMUSIK's signature deep landscapes with Diana Miro's ethereal vocals, Let Me Out defies genre norms seamlessly blending elements of progressive house, trance and techno to create a sonic landscape that is both hypnotic and emotionally charged. Based in Tunisia, Different Ray returns to Loot Recordings with his first proper EP I’ll Be Waiting after several contributions to the label’s The Goods compilation series. The release showcases Different Ray’s exceptional talent and features stunning remixes from Madraas, Mark Slee and Alex Donofrio. The Madraas Dub is an exquisite interpretation that is both beautiful and entrancing. Crisp percussion and twinkling melodies create an ethereal atmosphere, while the vocal is playfully manipulated with deep delays, pitch shifts and a touch of the surreal that results in a beautifully twisted dub mix. I’m absolutely loving making music with Mozez (Numen Records), our flow is natural and fun and our latest track is called Witches Brew, a deeply evocative track that expresses strong emotions through powerful beats and stunning vocals. Anjunadeep fan-favourite duo 16BL remix Cubicolor’s highlight album track As You Fly. Having released their third album Sometime Not Now in 2022, Cubicolor then embarked on a US tour earlier this year where they will be returning for some shows between the months of November and December. Underworld announces new track Denver Luna, an enchanting acappella curve-ball accompanied by the Jon Gorrigan directed video. Now they complete the puzzle, sharing the fully formed, amplified version, spanning 8 minutes of pure Underworld magic from the minds of Rick Smith and Karl Hyde. Both versions work to show the creative duality of Underworld. One slots into the other seamlessly. The acappella providing intimate clarity on their idiosyncratic lyricism and vocal melodies. The full length, complete version taking you on a musical journey, pulling memorable stylistic notions from classic Underworld with driving, immersive force whilst morphing their infamous sound into something very new and very fresh. Invigorating and vital, it helps cement Underworld as the pioneers of the UK electronic music scene. Finishing the mix off with a track from Belau who make delightful music and collaborate with lots of gifted singers, Hien on this one, Faraway.
