The Chillout Lounge Mix - Love Again
This mix shares the energy and power of believing in yourself, I hope it inspires and you can love again.
Opening track is Tim Angrave - Love Again on Numen Records, I feel in a really good place after growing through a challenging period and want to share the feeling. Seattle-based producer Jeff McIlwain, aka Lusine (Ghostly International), returns with his 9th full-length record, Long Light. Transonic is a hypnotic head-nodder and the rhythmic centerpiece to Long Light. A cited influence for myriad electronic artists including London’s Loraine James and others, Lusine is known for visceral, kinetically-curious music that fuses techno, pop, and experimental composition. In recent years, McIlwain has pushed his craft skyward with more collaborative, song-forward work. Franky Wah, one of the UK's most prominent breakout dance acts to emerge in recent years, makes a return to Anjunadeep with his latest EP Call My Name. Franky has collaborated with some of the biggest names in dance music including Carl Cox, Sasha, Pete Tong, Cristoph, Vintage Culture and more and has an extremely busy touring schedule. Introducing 9OASES, a groundbreaking artist project born from the creative minds of Mourad Kehailia and Sebastian Fischer, hailing from the vibrant city of Cologne. With diverse backgrounds in the music industry, their combined expertise stretches across multiple genres, fueling their innovative soundscapes. Their first release comes in the form of the Lovely EP, a sublime two track collection that truly demonstrates the versatility of this fresh duo. The title track kicks things off with infectious breaks drum grooves, quirky reverb soaked vocals and soulful pads. World renowned, multi-disciplinary artist, Anyma (aka Matteo Milleri; one half of electronic duo Tale Of Us and co-founder of Afterlife Records), releases his debut album, Genesys. It explores themes of technology, nature, humanity, and coexistence, and features a lineup of impressive collaborators, handpicked by Anyma, including Grimes, Sevdaliza, CamelPhat, Chris Avantgarde, Rebuke, Cassian, and more. Anyma’s music and performances are an unprecedented blend of mesmerizing visual installations, avant-garde sound engineering, and awe-inspiring stage designs. With the use of AI and digital audiovisual artistic elements that interact with reality, Anyma creates an out-of-this-world, one-of-a-kind experience that captures the imaginations of millions. A long-in-the-works project and A Tribe Called Kotori's first foray into full-length territories, the immensely talented Rampue takes you on a melancholy riddled ride across his phantasmatic mindscapes in Bubblebath Trance. A true sound explorer, deftly steering his ship down the junction of electronica, abstract and balearic infused prog house, the Berlin-based vibist gets you transfixed and elevated throughout the twelve cuts that form the backbone to this lushly textured promenade in sound, at times understatedly euphoric, at others rivetingly exotic. In 2020, german orchestral / electronic band Brandt Brauer Frick returned to their roots. Multi Faith Prayer Room is the band's most innovative, melodic, and accessible record yet. "We wanted to go back to club music. The record has a narrative element directly inspired by the way a night in a club unfolds, as you go through these different experiences" explains the band. Grandbrothers deliver an ethereal and enchanting remix of This Feeling. An angelic piano riff guides the track into different sonic landscapes as an interplay of various percussion creates an elusive and unparalleled sound that is truly original and bound to leave a lasting impression. Tim Angrave - Stay is from my latest album Reflections on Numen Records and is a positive and fun track with a groovy ending. After the stunning Red Axes remix of Killer of Fate and their debut album Strangers in Paradise, Island Hill (Bedrock Records) return with another single taken from the recently released album. This time, 1000 Lives gets the remix treatment from John Digweed & Nick Muir, who flip the ethereal original into a club-ready, indie chugger. Equipped with a vocal and dub mix, Digweed and Muir’s remix has a place in any DJs record bag, all versions are great, the original fitted best in this mix though. Frankie Knight & Ink Project’s Space Pop is a collaborative 8-track album from two, like-minded South London artists. Released via esteemed production music label Ultraphonic and mastered by Dave Turner of 360 Mastering (The XX, Roisin Murphy, Enya and many more), the album fuses Frankie Knight’s distinctively reflective and powerfully sugar-sweet vocal, songwriting, keyboard and guitar hooks, presenting lyrical subjects of true love, discovery, life struggles, self-empowerment, meditation, imagination and gratitude; alongside Ink Project’s spacious and often juxtaposing production, containing edgy electronic percussion, hauntingly soothing atmospheres and multi-textured sound design - drawing inspiration from a wide variety of classic and contemporary electronic, indie and pop music. Joris Feiertag is a Dutch producer and drummer from Utrecht in the Netherlands who makes music that is a finely balanced blend of organic and synthesized elements, often using ingenious syncopated rhythms combined with instruments such as the harp and kalimba. Roots is his third album on revered German imprint Sonar Kollektiv. Having concentrated his attention on catchy hooks and a number of guest voices on his first, and deeper break- beat workouts on his second, Joris felt it was time to deliver something that sat comfortably in a space somewhere between the two. Melodies from The Ocean of Emotions by Iman resonate deep into the soul. Music covering a spectrum of emotions, bringing listeners to a realm where the waves of sound crash on the shores of their hearts, drawing inspiration from the ebb and flow of life's events. Sophia Space Agency is a vocalist, keyboard player, composer, producer, sound artist and performance artist. Her unique style is difficult to categorise. From orchestral and cinematic torch songs to electronic minimalism, her unique style defies genre. Sophia Space Agency is classically trained in 20th century composition but prefers to sing in a raw style and to be influenced by Avant-garde singers such as Meredith Monk (who she has done some study with) and Cathy Berberian, check out her latest release What A Mess. Dave Pemberton is a Producer, Engineer & Sound Manipulator, and was part of the chillout band Kinobe. As a house engineer at Strongroom Studios for 16 years, he has worked with some amazing people including The Prodigy, Orbital, Groove Armada, M People, The Spice Girls, the Minogue sisters and many more. His track Paranoia on Numen Records starts with a heartbeat and a metronome getting faster, kind of like you're running and getting more and more out of breath… Then the calming pad represents the struggle to control the anxiety. The metronomic feel continues throughout the song, various kinds of disturbing sounds and chords carry through the contrasting battle against the minds paranoia. By the end the heartbeat slows and you’re at peace. Finishing this mix with Lost Coast by Indidginus featuring Colin Angus from The Shaman, an ethereal psychedelic cinematic guitar journey around forgotten shorelines. Check out Colin’s new project with Digital Habitat called Moship.
